At Artema Design Studio, our vision is to create considered buildings and interiors that quietly support the rhythms of everyday life — how people move, work, pause and connect. We shape environments that are practical, considered and quietly uplifting.

Based in Northern Ireland, Artema Design Studio is a design-led practice founded by Emma Harkin in 2021. Emma is a chartered Architect and has over two decades of experience delivering people-focused environments across transport, workplace and commercial sectors. The studio has particular expertise in complex, operational settings, where movement, sequencing and user experience are integral to the architectural and interior design response.

Aviation environments demand a careful balance of operational performance and user experience. From terminal spaces to staff and support facilities, projects are developed collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to support passenger flow, operational efficiency and the evolving character of the airport.

Across office, hotel and mixed-use environments, the studio designs practical, people-centered commercial buildings and interiors shaped around each client’s brand and way of working.

Our interior designs deliver carefully considered, functional interiors through clear spatial planning, material selection and furniture coordination, creating environments that support both brand and user experience.

Home is where everyday life unfolds. We approach residential projects with care and attention to detail, shaping spaces that feel calm, practical and considered. By listening closely to our clients and working within agreed budgets, we aim to create homes that feel personal, balanced and quietly resolved.

Our 3D modelling and visualisation services use SketchUp-based models to clearly communicate spatial intent and design development, with the option to provide more detailed, photorealistic imagery through specialist visualisation consultants where required.
